Somerset Dairy Scheme

129,000m2 of topsoil strip followed by 67,000m3 of cut and fill to completely re-shape the existing site to allow for the construction of a new dairy complex.

DCE carried out the initial topographical survey and designed the earthworks model according to the client specification.  The work was completed during one of the wettest winters on record, our fleet of Bulldozers completing much of the muck shift as trucks would not run.

We also completed the geotextile layers and sub base to all shed yard and silage clamp areas, along with clean and dirty water lagoons.  All works completed using GPS machine control ensuring greater accuracy and material savings.
